Palette Forward ("we," "us," or "our") operates paletteforward.co. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and what choices you have. Palette Forward is a static editorial site — there are no accounts to create and no login. The only personal information we collect is what you choose to give us, plus standard, aggregated analytics.
We collect information in two ways:
Our color quiz is scored entirely in your browser. Your individual answers are never sent to us or to anyone else — the scoring happens on your device. When you finish, we log an anonymous event in Google Analytics noting that a quiz was started and completed, along with the season it produced, so we can see how well the quiz is working — but never the answers you chose. Your resulting season is saved locally in your browser (via localStorage) so we can personalize the site to your palette on future visits, and a small flag remembers whether you've dismissed the quiz prompt. You can clear both at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
This site uses two kinds of cookies. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site. When you click a product link, Amazon sets an affiliate tracking cookie so it can attribute a purchase to Palette Forward and pay us a commission — at no extra cost to you. As we add other retail partners, they may set similar affiliate cookies; we'll keep this policy current.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling them will not affect the prices you pay at any retailer.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with advertisers, and the only third party we share it with is Kit, the service we use to send our newsletters.
This site uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Amazon Associates is currently our only affiliate program. We may add other retail affiliate partners over time; when we do, we'll update this list. When you click an affiliate link and visit a retailer's site, that retailer's privacy policy governs how your data is handled on their platform.
If you subscribe to our email list, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send. We will not contact you for marketing purposes without your consent.
We retain your email address in Kit until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per the default settings in Google Analytics (currently up to 14 months). We do not store payment information — all purchases happen directly on retailer websites.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at hello@paletteforward.co. We will respond within 30 days.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have — so there's nothing to opt out of on that front. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA; if you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
