Season Family

The Winter
Family.

Cool Undertone Clear Chroma Medium — Deep Value

Winter has cool undertones and clear, high-contrast coloring — the opposite of Summer's softness. Winters are the only season that can wear true black and pure white simultaneously. If you look best in sharp, saturated colors, you might be a Winter.

The Winter palette
Three Sub-Seasons

Same contrast. Different intensity.

Bright Winter
Cool · Clear · Medium

The most saturated of the three Winters, with clear and vivid colors. Bright Winter wears the brightest of the cool colors — think fuchsia, vivid red, and electric blue. Bright Winter is a bridge between Winter's cool clarity and Spring's brightness.

What All Winters Share

The three traits that define the family.

Undertone

Cool, blue-based

The Winter season is marked by predominantly blue-based cool tones. Where Summer's cool is soft and rosy, Winter's cool is sharp and precise, the foundation for a palette built on contrast and clarity.

Chroma

Clear, high contrast

Unlike Summers, who share the cool undertone but wear more muted, blended colors, Winter colors are clear and saturated. This is the family that pure black lives in.

Value

Medium, deep

The Winter family leans darker than the other seasons, with colors that are rich, striking, and built for contrast. Even the lighter shades in the Winter palette carry a crispness that keeps them from ever reading soft.
